Kewanee teacher faces sexual abuse charges
A Kewanee High School teacher was facing charges Wednesday of sexual conduct with a student.
Mario R. Olalde, 28, has been charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kewanee Police Department and Henry County court records.
An investigation began June 19 after school officials "expressed concerns" over reports they were receiving on the matter, the police said. The investigation was finished Tuesday, leading to the charges.
Mr. Olalde's bail was set at $150,000 in a court hearing Tuesday. His next court date was scheduled for Monday.
He remained in custody Wednesday.
