Davenport Jaycees to Honor Young Community Leaders at Annual Community Awards Banquet
The Davenport Jaycees will host their annual Community Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 11th at Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano, Davenport, Iowa. The event will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m., with dinner and the awards program following at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to officially welcoming new Jaycees who have joined during the past year and introducing the 2010 Board of Directors, the Community Awards showcase individual excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of work, and inspiration of others. All recipients must be under the age of 40 at the time of the banquet in order to be eligible. Anyone can nominate a person for these awards by filling out a nomination form located on our web site at www.davenportjaycees.com.

The Davenport Jaycees is an organization of young civic-minded individuals dedicated to making the community a better place and helping to develop future leaders. One of the oldest chapters in Iowa, they continue to enjoy a surge in membership in recent years, sponsoring such community events as the Bridal Expo and the Jaycees Haunted House. Over the past 24 years, the Davenport Jaycees has returned over $500,000 to the community through contributions to various charities and the annual Jaycee Santa program. The Jaycees provided the community with the Davenport Jaycees Commons, a park in downtown Davenport and the Davenport Jaycees Field baseball diamond.
