Davenport Jaycees to Sponsor and Serve CASI Thanksgiving Dinner

The Davenport Jaycees will serve and sponsor the annual Center for Active Seniors, Inc. (CASI) Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday, November 24th beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Jaycees have been sponsoring the event for over 20 years, beginning when CASI was located downtown in Davenport. The event takes place each year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the menu includes turkey, stuffing, green beans, rolls, cranberry sauce, mash potatoes and gravy, and pumpkin pie for dessert. Entertainment will be provided by Lionel Marcoux. Seating is limited; $6.00 paid reservations required, .

The Davenport Jaycees is an organization of young civic-minded individuals dedicated to making the community a better place and helping to develop future leaders. One of the oldest chapters in Iowa, they continue to enjoy a surge in membership in recent years, sponsoring such community events as the Bridal Expo and the Jaycees Haunted House. Over the past 24 years, the Davenport Jaycees has returned over $500,000 to the community through contributions to various charities and the annual Jaycee Santa program. The Jaycees provided the community with the Davenport Jaycees Commons, a park in downtown Davenport and the Davenport Jaycees Field baseball diamond.

Recipients of funds raised by the Davenport Jaycees include:

Children's Therapy Center, Davenport Little Hawks, New Kingdom Trail Riders, River Action, Scott County Family YMCA, Special Olympics Scott County, Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club of Mississippi Valley, Hand in Hand.
