Augustana College announces new Board of Trustees members
Rock Island, IL—Augustana College welcomes two members to its Board of Trustees, Christopher R. Coulter and Dr. Lois Levine-Mundie.
Coulter, a 1994 Augustana graduate, earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame. He is vice president of Coulter Companies, Inc., an 81-year-old family-owned environmental services company based in Peoria, Ill. He has served as the chair of the Augustana Alumni Association Board of Directors and is involved with Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria, which was founded by an Augustana graduate. Coulter is married to Augustana alumna Melanie (Berna) Coulter and has two children, Maria and Brian.
Coulter sees his firsthand knowledge about Augustana's dedication to providing a distinctive, private liberal arts education will serve as a benefit in his new role as a trustee.
"I hope to contribute to the betterment of Augustana through my prior experience as a member of the Augustana Alumni Association Board of Directors and actively engage alumni to contribute," says Coulter. "We need a magnet to help increase on-campus participation from our alumni."
Levine-Mundie graduated from Augustana magna cum laude in 1969 and earned her M.D. at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, where she graduated in the top 5 percent of her class. She has worked as a gynecologist in a private practice in Marin Country, Calif., for 32 years and has served on the clinical faculty at the University of California-San Francisco and as chief of staff at Marin General Hospital. She has a daughter, Eleanor.
