Press release submitted by John Hitchcock

The Moline Police Benevolent & Protection Association (PBPA) has teamed up with Real Health Chiropractic, and the Salvation Army this Thanksgiving to provide complete holiday meals to families in the City of Moline. Our baskets consist of everything needed to cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal. This year, we are giving almost 400 baskets to families in need.

Real Heath Chiropractic (1601 52nd Avenue, Moline 797-9777) hosts an annual "Heap of Thanks" week for the Moline PBPA Thanksgiving basket give-away. During this time, a free initial consultation is given to new patients and a free adjustment is given to returning patients, with the donation of a bag of groceries. Last year, Real Health Chiropractic, with Dr. Ruebbelke gave over 1000 pounds of food for our baskets!

On Saturday, November 21st at 1pm- We will be picking up the items donated from Real Health Chiropractic (1601 52nd Avenue).

On Monday, November 23rd at 5pm, volunteers will be assembling the turkey's baskets at the Salvation Army (2200 5th Avenue, Moline).

On Tuesday, November 24th at 9am, Police Officers will be distributing the 375 baskets throughout Moline. Officers from every division of the Moline Police Department assist delivering the baskets.

This annual project continues to grow and services more Moline families each passing year. This is our biggest year ever, with a total of 375 baskets given to families. We look forward to being able to give a little to the community which we so proudly serve. So often, when a Police Officer knocks on your door, it's because something negative has happened. When we deliver our turkey baskets, we knock on the door only to give a little holiday cheer and say, "Have a Happy Thanksgiving".

We are blessed to be part of such a strong and giving community. The Moline PBPA would like to sincerely thank Real Health Chiropractic, the Salvation Army, Hy-Vee, and all those who provided monetary donations to make this project a reality. Without the support from our proud business and community, this would not be possible.

Please refer any questions to the President, Officer Stephanie Genisio or Officer John Leach at the Moline Police Department 309-797-0401 or 309-736-5647. Thank you
