Soccer fun and a movie at Schwiebert Riverfront

The Rock Island Parks & Recreation Movie Night series concludes Friday, August 3rd, with "Kicking & Screaming" at Schwiebert Riverfront Park, downtown Rock Island. The concession stand will open at 6:30, with soccer fun at 7:30 pm. Whether seasoned players or new to the sport, children of all ages will enjoy dribbling, shooting and passing games before the movie begins at 8:30 pm.

Starring Will Ferrell, Robert Duvall and Mike Ditka, "Kicking & Screaming" is the story of Phil Weston (Ferrell), inexperienced as a coach but with a competitive nature instilled in him by his father, taking on coaching duties for a boys' soccer team. Determined to win at all costs, Coach Weston makes a few enemies along the way. Will he learn the true meaning of sportsmanship? Come to the park Friday night and find out.
