Third person admits guilt in Radisson robbery case

A third person has pleaded guilty in connection with a summer robbery at the Radisson Hotel, Moline.

Broch Leftwich, 19, of Moline, pleaded guilty Thursday in Rock Island County Circuit Court. to a lesser felony charge of Class 1 attempted armed robbery. He was initially charged June 27 with armed robbery, a Class X felony.

Two others -- Brian Peterson, 22, of Milan, and Brianne Seemann, 20, of Viola -- pleaded guilty Aug. 17 to attempted armed robbery and await sentencing Oct. 10.

Court records indicate an Oct. 29 trial date is set for Andrew Meegan, 19, of Moline, and a Nov. 13 trial is scheduled for Madison Berthoud, 18, of Moline; each faces one charge of armed robbery.

According to information presented in court, Ms. Seemann and Ms. Berthoud met two men, visiting from Ireland, at a Davenport club June 26 and returned with them to their room at the Radisson hotel, 1415 River Drive.

Shortly after they returned, three men, Mr. Leftwich, Mr. Peterson and Mr. Meegan, allegedly knocked on the door and upon being let into the room, attempted to rob the two male victims of money and other items. Information presented in court claimed that Mr. Peterson had a knife and Mr. Meegan struck one of the victims.

Moline police said they were notified of the incident about 7:30 a.m. the same day, and by 4 p.m., had arrested five people.
