Davenport East Second St. to close on Oct. 1

Press release submitted by city of Davenport Davenport Public Works posted the following update to the city website. On Monday, October 1st, East Second St. will be closed between Brady Street and Perry Street between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The closure is necessary in order for a crane operator to load material onto the MidAmerican Energy building. Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour routes or take alternate routes during the closure. Local access will remain available.

1988 -- 25 years ago: Hampton's sesquicentennial committee and the Hampton HistoricalSociety have scheduled a full slate of activities, which will be held throughout the year, to celebrate the village's 150th birthday. The first celebration will be the Memorial Dayprogram at 10 a.m. May 30, at the Brettun and Black Store Museum on River Road. Therewill be a sesquicentennial display.
