Tonight: 7 at NYTEX Sports Center in Texas. Webcasts: myqcmallards.com (free audio, pay-per-view CHL TV).

Storyline: The Mallards (6-6-3, 15 points) visit the old Texas Brahmas (6-7-2, 14 points) for the second straight Wednesday. QC fell 2-1 in a shootout to start a 1-2-1 Thanksgiving week which saw the Flock play four times in four different cities in a five-day span. By the time the Mallards finish action this weekend, they will have played 10 times in 16 days.

News: Former QC goalie David Brown has been suspended two games by the Central Hockey League. The current Arizona starter was assessed a match penalty for attempting to injure an opponent with his goaltender equipment in last Friday's 7-1 loss to league-leading Allen. Arizona defenseman Mario Larocque also drew a two-game suspension in that setback for punching an unsuspecting opponent and causing injury.

Notes: QC scoring leader Mickey Lang leads the CHL in shorthanded goals (2), ranks tied for sixth in goals (9) and shares 10th in points (18). ... Brett Robinson has scored in each of the Mallards' last four games, totaling six goals in nine contests since joining the team earlier this month. ... QC goalie John Murray ranks third in the league in save percentage (.929) and fourth in goals-against average (2.29). ... QC leads the league in shorthanded goals (4), but remains last on the power-play, converting 4-of-52 man-advantage chances (7.7 percent), including just 1 of its last 27, and none of last week's 14.

Around the league: With 35 goals in 15 games so far, Fort Worth is the lowest-scoring squad in the CHL. ... QC is the last team to beat Wichita, which has won four straight to move into second place. ... Ironically, since that Nov. 16 win, the Flock is 0-3-1 in their last four away games after going unbeaten in regulation (2-0-1) in this season's first three road contests.

Next: The Mallards meet Missouri for a home-and-home series this weekend, visiting Missouri Friday and hosting the Mavericks on Saturday.
