Urban 'Tony' Praught
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Alzheimer's Foundation. Tony was born April 10, 1933, in Grand River, Prince Edward Island, Canada, the son of Sanctinus and Minnie Peters Praught. He married Marie Rose Eliana Bray, on March 7, 1964, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He retired as a maintenance welder from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He enjoyed wintering with his wife in Clearwater, Fla. Tony served in the Canadian Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Praught enjoyed horse races, gardening and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Marie; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Andrea Praught, Naperville, Ill., Joseph and Michelle Praught, Eldridge, and Jerome and Molly Praught, Moline; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Raspa, North Carolina, Gladys Panzl, Lillian Rogers, both of Canada, Irene Conn, New York, and Trudy DeLarosa, East Moline; brothers, Jack Praught and Bill Praught, Canada. Guest speaker, William Moffitt, director of productengineering of Deere & Co., spoke about leadership and stressed the importance ofcommunity volunteers.
