RI man heads to court for charges of marijuana possession

A Rock Island man is scheduled to make an initial appearance Wednesday in the Rock Island County Circuit Court, where he has been charged with unlawful possession of 30-500 grams of cannabis.

Paul Wells Risden, 36, of 1620 5th St., Rock Island, remained in the Rock Island County Jail Tuesday evening, awaiting the appearance.

If convicted of the Class 3 felony, he faces a possible penalty of two to five years in prison and up to $50,000 in fines, records said.
