City of Rock Island to host Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University to benefit Quad City residents – Preview Night Scheduled for January 21, 2013 at 6pm

The City of Rock Island is offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, a personal debt-reduction and wealth-building program starting on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 6pm. A preview night for interested parties is being hosted on January 21, 2013 starting at 6pm. Preview night and all class events will be at the Rock Island Public Library located at 401 19th Street Rock Island, IL 61201.
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more! Dave Ramsey reports that the average participating household will pay off $5,300 in debt and will save $2,700 in their first ninety days of applying the principles of FPU.
Dave Ramsey is a nationally syndicated radio personality and author of the New York Times best-sellers The Total Money Makeover, Financial Peace, More Than Enough, and Entreleadership. For more than 18 years, The Dave Ramsey Show has helped callers work through their financial questions and concerns, offering support to the hurting and guidance to the financially uncertain. The program is now heard on more than 500 radio stations with over 5 million listeners weekly.

Financial Peace University is presented by the Knowledge through Neighbors task force of Neighborhood Partners, a commission of the City of Rock Island. Neighborhood Partners is a City-initiated and -coordinated partnership that builds stronger working relationships among neighborhoods, city government, service agencies, schools, churches, and businesses.

The tuition for Financial Peace University is $99. FPU is sponsored and partially underwritten by Neighborhood Partners. The first ten Rock Island resident households who have signed up and paid in full will receive a 50% scholarship ($49.95); proof of Rock Island residency is required.
