Why watch: United Township looks to end a three-game losing streak. ... Galesburg snapped a three-game losing streak with a 58-48 win over Dunlap on Tuesday at John Thiel Gymnasium. ... Galesburg sophomore guard Grant Gibson's 22.3 points-per-game average is tops in the league. "He gets his points, but you have guys who are chipping in and rising to the occasion," UT coach Marc Polite said. "They've had different guys step up." ... In their last four games, the Silver Streaks have allowed opponents to average 56.5 points."Our problems of late have been about inconsistencies on the defensive end," Galesburg coach Mike Reynolds said. "We think we've shored that up. We hope that continues. Our team is built on defense and energy. If we don't have those things, we don't have a chance." ... Before the game, Galesburg will honor its 1956-57 basketball team that reached the single-class state quarterfinals. Included in that run was a 23-21 win over Rock Island in the infamous "stall game."

United Township coach Marc Polite: "Throughout the week in practice, we've spent time getting our rhythm back. We're going to come out and play better. The question is playing better defensively. If we can do that and score offensively, we can be in the game."

Galesburg coach Mike Reynolds: "We have nine more home games in a row left. This is a chance for us to make some hay. We want to be in the race at the end. In order to do that, we've got to take care of business."
