Jean E. Valk, 89, Resthave Home, Morrison, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Reformed, Morrison. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Bosma-Renkes, Morrison. Burial is at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.
She married Harold Geerts in 1945. He died in 1970. She married Dick Valk in 1973. He died in 1988.
Surviving are daughters, Beth Ashby, Thomson, Lois Kuehl and Denise Kuehl, Morrison; stepdaughter, Kathy Merema, Fulton; two stepsons; many grandchildren; and brother, Warren Temple, Morrison.

1964 -- 50 years ago: Publication of a plant newspaper, the Farmall Works News, has been launched at the Rock Island IHC factory and replaces a managerial newsletter.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Officials predict Monday's Rock Island Labor Parade will be the biggest and best ever. Last minute work continues on floats and costumes for the parade, which steps off a 9:30 a.m.
