Ann's Helping Hand to host Basket Bingo Sunday

Ann's Helping Hand will host Basket Bingo at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Blu Shamrock in Cordova.

Proceeds will go toward Easter baskets for low-income kids in the Riverdale school district.

The cost is $1 per game, with 20 games. Bring candy or small toys appropriate for the Easter baskets and receive a free slice of cake. Wear red or pink and receive a free door prize ticket.Door prize tickets also will be available for purchase.

Burger baskets will be offered at $6.50 or people can order off the menu.

1989 — 25 years ago: Care & Share, formed in 1984 to provide food to jobless and needy Quad-Citians, will disband because the major part of a crisis created by plant closings is over. Food for the needy is still necessary. So groups separately will continue to raise money and collect food.
