Max and Patty Bennett, Rock Island, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Le Figaro in Rock Island and will take a trip to Arizona at a later date.
Patricia Lee Moortel and Mr. Bennett, both of Moline, were married Jan. 31, 1953, in Moline.
Their daughter is Mary Jane and husband, Tom Newenham, Moline. Their granddaughter is Alexandra.
Mr. Bennett retired from the Rock Island Arsenal 30 years ago.

1989 -- 25 years ago: The Rock Island City Council's plan announced this week to have the federal government vacate Valley Homes public housing and move residents to Arsenal Courts to reduce density may not be feasible.
