Janet Christensen, 88, of Davenport, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Ridgecrest Health Center, Davenport.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at First Christian, Davenport. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Weerts, Davenport. Burial is at Davenport Memorial Park.
She was born in 1924, in Davenport, to Wallace and Gladys Barrie. She married Leslie Christensen in 1944. They divorced.
Surviving are daughters, Joan Christensen-Sund, Jane Makepeace, Jennifer Christensen; sons, Leslie Jr., Bruce; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

1989 -- 25 years ago: The B-29 Super-Fortress bomber is impressive looking, and it did the job during World War II. Its claim to fame is dropping the atomic bombs in Japan to end the war. Only one B-29 is operational in the world today. It is on display at the Quad City Airport in Moline until Friday.
