James Joseph "Jim" Casel, 75, of Eldridge, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Genesis East, Davenport.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove. Burial is at Pine Hill, Davenport. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church and 9:30 a.m. to services. Arrangements are by Chambers, Eldridge.
He married Susan Kreiter on June 29, 1963.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Gregory, DeWitt, Todd, East Moline, Christopher, Davenport, and Matthew, Manchester, Mo.; mother, Margaret, Long Grove; and nine grandchildren.

1989 — 25 years ago: Special Olympics competitors were triple winners at Rock Island High School Saturday. The participants vanquished the rain that fell during the competition, and some won their events; but most important, they triumphed over their own disabilities.
