Announcement is made of the engagement of Amanda Zook and Jonathan DeRew, both of Bloomington, Ill. She is the daughter of Rodger and Mary Jane Zook, Heyworth, Ill. He is the son of Mike and Doreen DeRew, Geneseo. The couple will be married at 5:30 p.m. June 29, 2013, at Weaver Ridge Golf Course, Peoria. The reception will follow. They graduated from their respective high schools and Illinois State University. Amanda is employed as a program coordinator for the University of Illinois Extension Office, Bloomington.Jonathan is employed as a chemistry teacher and coach at Bloomington High School.

Ten persons have died, and 243 are officially reported ill with the infection. 1963 — 50 years ago: A dramatic, multi-million dollar riverfront improvement project for the downtown area of Rock Island was unveiled at a meeting of 200 civic leaders at noon today. 1988 — 25 years ago: For several supporters of the Dispatch Goodfellow/Argus Santa program their donation is a year long project.
