Women's self-defense classes

A women's self-defense class will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and again Sept. 21 at Morrow's Academy of Martial Arts, 1319 5th Ave., Moline.

Participants will learn basic strikes, kicks and blocks of self defense. They also will learn what to do if an attacker grabs, chokes or holds them. The class is geared to women of any age, and the moves are easy to learn and execute.

The cost is $35. Participants should wear loose clothing.
