For the last thirteen years, the Defense Supply Center in Philadelphia has provided Moline Township with surplus blankets to be distributed to our community's homeless population. This year, Moline Township received 900 blankets.

STAND DOWN IS OUR COMMUNITY'S WAY OF REACHING OUT TO HOMELESS VETERANS – IT BEGINS SEPTEMBER 19TH AT THE QCCA – GET MORE DETAILS AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE

Different QC agencies as well as local townships will be at Moline Township to pick up the blankets and begin the process of distribution on September 10th. Moline Township Supervisor, Don Johnston, will hand out the blankets and talk with the agencies about our continuing efforts to meet the needs of homeless Veterans and the overall homeless population in Rock Island County.

1989 — 25 years ago: The two thunderstorms passing through the Quad Cities last night and early today left some area residents reaching for their flashlights.
