Because of an error by a source, the menu for a Nov. 4 meeting of the U.A.W. Local 865 Retirees was incorrectly reported in a story published Saturday. The group will meet at noon Nov. 4 at U.A.W. Hall, 630 19th St., East Moline, for a chicken dinner. Reservations must be made by Thursday by calling 309-755-5273.

1989 -- 25 years ago: Fort Armstrong hotel once the wining and dining chambers of Rock Island's elite is under repair. Progress is being made though at a seeming snail's pace to return the building to a semblance of its past glory for senior citizen's homes.
