On November 21, 2013 at 1:30PM in the Community Room of the Davenport Police Facility, the City of Davenport will hold a workshop to explain the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) YR40 (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015) application process and requirements. Any agency or organization wishing to apply MUST attend this workshop. As a CDBG entitlement community, Davenport receives an annual allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This year Davenport received $1.3 million.
The primary goal of the CDBG program, as outlined by Title I of the Housing & Community Development Act is "…the development of viable community, by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate incomes."
Application is open to any not-for-profit organization, 501(c)3 status, providing eligible programs or services to low and moderate income Davenport residents. Staff will present the federal regulations and the fiscal, programmatic, and eligibility requirements. The applications and instruction packet will only be available at the workshop.
Registration forms are available on the City's website www.cityofdavenportiowa.com and at City Hall, Community Planning & Economic Development Department, 8AM to 5PM, Monday – Friday, or to receive a form by mail, contact Community Planning and Economic Development at 326-7765, TDD 326-6145. Forms must be completed by November, 15 2013.
