Russell E. DeWeerdt, 87, of Fulton, died April 2, 2014, at Harbor Crest Home, Fulton.
Memorial services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Bosma-Renkes, Fulton, with visitation 1 p.m. to services. Burial is at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton.
He was born in 1926.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; children, Cindy Shults, Grand Junction, Colo., and Robin DeWeerdt, Bruner, Mo.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters including, Beverly Bonneur, Arlene Dykema, Betty Merema and Irma Swanson, all of Fulton; and five brothers.

1989 — 25 years ago: Beginning this fall, Black Hawk College will offer a continuing education course in horseback riding at the Wright Way Equestrian Center, Moline, located just east of the Deere Administration Center.
