Coroner: Kewanee man electrocuted

KEWANEE (AP) — The Henry County coroner says a Kewanee man was apparently electrocuted when an aluminum ladder he was carrying contacted a power line.

Henry County Coroner Dave Johnson told the Journal Star in Peoria that Curtis W. English, 39, of Kewanee was pronounced dead Sunday. Mr. Johnson said "all indications are that he was electrocuted."

Mr. Johnson said firefighters took Mr. English to the hospital after the incident happened in a house's side yard. An inquest will be scheduled; Ameren Illinois, Kewanee Police and the coroner's office are investigating.
