Johannes Bus Service celebrates 50 years with open house

ROCK ISLAND -- Johannes Bus Service Inc., a family-owned and operated school bus and charter transportation business, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a public open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Camden Center in Milan.

Harry "Red" Johannes started the bus service in the early 1960s with two school buses. The business grew and was incorporated in 1964.

Former employees, riders and the general public are invited.

Buses will be parked outside Camden Center for viewing, and there will be a photo slide show of people and places during the last 50 years.
