Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Temple Baptist Church, Davenport, with visitation 9 a.m. to services. Burial is at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.
She was born in 1932 to Thomas and Dora Bryant. She married William D. Smith Sr. in 1967. He died in 1994.
Surviving are stepchildren, William Smith Jr., Paul Smith, Allea Vick and Elveda Gamblin; sister, Lucy Jones, Davenport; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He married Doris Birchard in 1941. He married Naomi Lee in 1953.
Surviving are children, Larry, Hazleton, Janice Aplin, Blue Grass; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; siblings, Iona, Betty, Mary Jo and Keith.

She was born July 20, 1923. She married William Gripp in 1940. He died in 1975.
Surviving are her children, Charles, Russell, Kimberly Cogdell; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Weir Jr., Milan. She was preceded in death by daughter, Charlotte.

He was born June 5, 1951, to Richard and Imogene Greve.
Surviving are his son, Andrew Greve, a grandson, Isiah Greve, both of Muscatine; siblings, Peg Ballinger, Bettendorf, Melissa Kraklow, Davenport, and David (Kathleen) Greve, Hartland, Wis.; nieces and nephews.

Services are 5 p.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Davenport Stake Center. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Joy was an creative hard worker who enjoyed crafting, candle-making and genealogy.
Survivors include her children, Shelley, Jennifer, Rebeckah, Scott, Jana and Shawn; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her dogs, Ammon and Abbish; her parents, Allan and Charlene Wagner; and a sister, Pam.

08/20/2014, 6:02 pm Kenneth V. Ziemer, 85, of Reynolds, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Reynolds Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of The National Parkinson's Foundation or the Reynolds Fire Protection District.
Ken was born Jan. 20, 1929, in Taylor Ridge, a son of Clem and Clara Gruske Ziemer. He married Luella Rohwer on April 12, 1951, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.
Ken was a dedicated farmer who worked with his son, Ron, on the family farm and also spent many years in sales for Gold Star FS, formerly Rock Island Service Co. He was a member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and Reynolds American Legion Post 1166. Ken also enjoyed bowling in leagues and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of more than 63 years, Luella; son, Ron (Karen) Ziemer, Reynolds; daughters, Debbie (Ken) Walker, Gilson, and Loretta (Richard) Caron, Kenosha, Wis.; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Ray, Sarah (Shane) Gossage, Daniel Beauchamp and Jennifer Ziemer; stepgrandchildren, Sarah Pender, Melissa and Brian Dutler, and Chris and Becky Walker; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith Ziemer.

08/20/2014, 6:02 pm Sandra Rae Swanson Wells, of Deland, Fla., formerly of the Quad-Cities area, passed away Aug. 12, 2014.
A memorial service was held in Deland on Aug. 16. Allen Summerhill Funeral Home in Deland was in charge of arrangements. A local memorial service will be held at a later date.
Sandra was born July 6, 1940, daughter of Clarence and Mabel Swanson. Sandra was raised in the Andover area by her father, Clarence, and stepmother, Lois. Sandra married Jack Wells on Aug. 13, 1982.
She is survived by her husband, Deland; her children, Rodney, Rusty, Sue, Bobby, Randy and Robin; stepdaughters, Jackie and Pamela; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandra is also survived by brothers, James Swanson, Dave Swanson, Joe Swanson; and sisters, Judy Cowley, Janice Thorpe, Gloria Grafton, Marijo Vols and Johnna Olson.

Funeral services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Reynolds. Burial is at Reynolds Cemetery, where military honors will be presented by Reynolds American Legion Post 1166. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Reynolds Volunteer Fire Department, Orion Christian Church or UnityPoint Hospice.
Wendell was born at home in Taylor Ridge on Oct. 19, 1932, a son of A. Warren and Clara Mae Schmidt Oak. He married Elaine A. Nielsen on Dec. 13, 1953, in Rock Island.
He graduated from the Reynolds High School in 1950. Wendell in early years worked at the International Harvester Corp. Farmall Works, then later began his plumbing career working for Virgil Blaser. In 1965, he started Oak Plumbing and Pump Co., Reynolds, a company run by his son, Stephen, today. Wendell also farmed with Stephen in the Reynolds area.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having joined the service just prior to the end of the Korean War. Wendell was a member of Orion Christian Church, a 54-year member of the Reynolds Volunteer Fire Department, life member of Andalusia Masonic Lodge 516 AF & AM and a member of the Moline Consistory. He enjoyed gardening, camping and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; children, Scott (Rebecca) Oak, Aledo, Stephen (Sherry) Oak, Taylor Ridge, and Sandra Oak-Venable (Frank Venable), Reynolds; grandchildren, Benjamin (Erika) Oak, Andrew (Sylwia) Oak, Cody Oak, Jonathon Oak (fiancee, Samantha Wells), Stephani (Travis) Norris and Chelsy Oak; and great-grandchildren, Audriana, Khloe, Olivia and Brailey. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
