04/18/2014, 5:47 pm Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. James F. Perry Sr., 92, of Bettendorf, a decorated veteran of both World War II and Korea, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Bettendorf Health Care Center, Bettendorf.

Memorial services are 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Runge, Davenport, with visitation from noon to services. Inurnment is at Rock Island National Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Dubuque, Iowa. She married Warren D. Parris on April 3, 1948. He died in 1975.
Surviving are her children, Trudy A. Stolpe, Florida, Timothy, Tennessee, and Jeffrey, Davenport; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Sullivan, Davenport.

She was born March 3, 1922, in Davenport, to Louis and Maria Strasen Mueller.
Her memberships included American Business Women Association, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, and Putnam Museum Guild. She enjoyed golfing and traveling.
Surviving are nieces, Pamela Grobe and Stephanie (James) Wolfe, and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

04/18/2014, 5:47 pm Marvin J. Sunken, 65, of Colona, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. A memorial fund will be established.
He was born Aug. 9, 1948, in Rochelle, Ill., to Sunkie and Anna Meirath Sunken. He married Marian Pitts in July 1969 in Carbon Cliff. He later married Carol Christian in June 1991 in Geneseo.
Marvin worked for the Rock Island Lines, Valspar Paint and John Deere Davenport Works as a security guard.
He was an avid Cardinals fan and loved racing and country music.
Survivors include his children, Mike (Becky) Sunken, Colona, Melinda (Scott) Symons, Port Byron; grandson, Mavick Sunken; a niece and four nephews; and siblings, Carletta Dykes, Davenport, Ray (Sandy) Sunken, Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

She was born April 20, 1920, in Morrison, to John and Zada Humphrey Bruins. She married Floyd F. Douglas on Oct. 30, 1947. He died Nov. 1, 1988.
Surviving are her children, Linda Jensen, Albany, and Roy, Geneseo, four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
