Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Bible Holiness Church, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Runge, Davenport. Burial is at Arlington Park Cemetery, Milwaukee.
She was born Sept. 25, 1953, in Milwaukee, to Clifford and Ruth Halter Morden. She married Larry W. Pettit Aug. 4, 1973.
Surviving are her husband; children, Melissa Pettit, Davenport, Nathan and Maribel Pettit, Las Vegas, Nev., Matthew Pettit, Nashville, TN.; and three sisters.

Nancy was born in 1946 in Galesburg, to Leonard and Judith Oberg. She married Bernard "Bernie" Heuvelman Oct. 21, 1967, in Galesburg.
Survivors include her husband; son, Jim (Jennifer) Heuvelman, Atlanta, Ga; and granddaughter, Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents.

07/22/2014, 9:31 pm Darlene J. Blomme, 87, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Davenport and a former longtime Bettendorf resident, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Services in celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 14th and Brady, Davenport. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church or to Quad City Animal Welfare Center.
Mrs. Blomme was born in 1927, in Cedar Bluff, Iowa, to William and Mary Mason and was a high school graduate of Tipton, Iowa. In 1949, she married Bill Leopard in Davenport. He preceded her in death. On Dec. 15, 1973, she married Sherman J. Blomme in East Moline.
She was a hairdresser for decades, 26 of those years with "Marvin and Allen's." Most recently, she worked at JG Designers in Davenport until her retirement at the age of 80.
Known for her photography skills, she earned many awards in local and national photo competitions, including "Symphony in Bloom." She held various offices in photo clubs and donated much of her photographic work to various charitable events. Her memberships included St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport, National Hairdresser and Cosmetologist Association for nearly 60 years, Photographic Society of America, Quad-City Slide Club, Color Shooters Slide Club and the Hosta Club.
Survivors include her husband, Sherman; daughter, Denise D. Nelson; granddaughter, Carissa; sister, Dorothy J. Stevenson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Daniel Mason Leopard.

07/22/2014, 9:31 pm James H. Shaw, 85, passed away on July 21, 2014, surrounded by family in Amelia Island, Fla.
On Thursday, July 24, you can greet the family at 10 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service which will celebrate his life at the First Presbyterian Church, 9 N. 6th St., Fernandina Beach, Fla., with the Rev. Dr. Douglas R. Ganyo officiating. A graveside service will be held in the near future in Aledo.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Jim's memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium Fund, or First Presbyterian Church Endowment Trust Fund, 9 N. 6th St., Fernandina Beach FL 32034. Arrangements are by Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors, Fernandina Beach.
He was born March 8, 1929, in Monmouth, the son of the late Lee and Pauline Bevans Shaw. He was united in marriage to Audrey Bell on Dec. 20, 1951, in Aledo.
Jim Shaw was raised in Aledo and educated in the public school system. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1952, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi social fraternity. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952-1954.
He started his career in the retail industry with Allied Stores Inc. and held various positions in several locations from 1954-1969. In 1969, he joined John Wanamaker in Philadelphia, Pa., and was promoted to senior vice president, general merchandise manager prior to leaving in 1975. He accepted a position at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City as one of the first senior vice president, general merchandise managers. Five years later he joined J. B. Ivey Co. in Charlotte, N.C. He held the position of president and later served as chairman and CEO. In 1989, he retired to Amelia Island.
In Charlotte, Jim's civic activities were numerous. He was on the board of directors of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Society and the Science Museum of Charlotte Inc. and served as president of both organizations. He was on the board of directors of Arts and Science Council, worked on the Annual Fund Campaign and was the general chairman. He was a recipient of the Arts and Science Council Vanguard Award for Corporate Philanthropy. He also served as the director of the Mercy Hospital Foundation and was chairman for one term. He also served on the board of directors of the Central YMCA, the Greater Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Central Carolinas Inc., the World 600 Festival Charlotte Speedway and the City Board for North Carolina National Bank. He also held seats on corporate boards, Fredrick Atkins Inc. NYC, Conso International and The Cato Corporation.
Jim was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fernandina Beach, Fla., where he served as an elder. He was chairman of the Finance Committee and the Endowment Trust Fund. He was a founding participant in the planning and development of the Columbarium located at the church. In addition, he also served on the Nassau County Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, participated on the committee for the annual Take a Swing for Cancer Golf Tournament and was very active with Micah's Place.
His beloved wife, Audrey; his brother, Richard D. Shaw; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Nicholson; and his parents, preceded him in death. He will be missed by his daughters, Terry (Broderick) Reynolds, Molly (Brian) Bunting, both of Princeton, N.J., Kathy Hummer, Sewell, N.J.; his son, Kent Shaw, and his daughter-in-law, Debbie Shaw, Cincinnati, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Sarah and Evan Shaw, Katie (Eddie) Keith and Andrew Hummer; nephews, Steve (Jan) Shaw and family, Las Vegas, Nev., and Tom (Dawn) Shaw and family, San Diego, Calif.; and many friends.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Reformed, Morrison. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes, Morrison. Burial is at Grove Hill, Morrison.
She married Jacob Pruis Aug. 22, 1935. He died in 1947. She married Charles Douma Dec. 30, 1961. He died in 1962.
Surviving are children, Alva Sikkema, Harry, Larry and Warren Pruis; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings.

Agnes was born Sept. 14, 1926. She married Anton Stanley Grecicius June 2, 1946.
She is survived by son, Anton (Barbara) Greicius, Little York; sister-in-law, Joan (Ben) Phelps, Kewanee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; grandson Christopher James Greicius; two sisters; three brothers.
