    Helen L. Marner, 80, of Rockford, Ill., died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at home after a short illness.

    Latin funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Rockford. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, Ill. Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in her name to Poor Clares Corpus Christi Monastery or St. Patrick Catholic Church.

    She was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Rock Island, daughter of Glenn W. and Florence O'Malley Hutchinson. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and the Villa De Chantal High School in Rock Island. She was a 1949 graduate of Clarke College with a degree in music and English. Helen first taught high school in Keota, Iowa, and retuned to Rock Island to teach fifth grade at Eugene Field Elementary until 1952. She married Kenneth Marner in 1952 and moved to San Diego, Calif., for two years. They returned to Rock Island, where her husband attended and earned a degree at St. Ambrose College. She and Ken moved to Rockford in 1959 to raise a family of five children. Helen was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rockford.

    Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Kenneth; daughter, Mary Verace, Las Vegas; sons, Robert (Debbie), Timberlane Village, Ill., Jeff (Jane), Rockford, Jim (Laurie), Loves Park, Ill., and John, Dubuque, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

    Ralph Vaughn

    Ralph Vaughn, 88, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

    Services to celebrate Ralph's life will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, Decatur, with the Rev. Joel Ruppert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Pathway Hospice.     Ralph was born May 31, 1919, in Big Spring Township, Shelby County, Ill., the son of William Avery and Lulu Ellen Barden Vaughn. He married Hazel Chamberlain on March 3, 1945, in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1986.

    Surviving are his two daughters, Connie Sue Jaster, Rock Island, and Patricia Ann (Edward) Essary, Coal City, Ill.; one brother, James (Sharon) Vaughn, Bettendorf; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jaster, Rock Island, Janet Foley, Indianapolis, Ind., and Adam (Mary) Essary, Manhattan, Ill.; one great-grandchild, Daniel Foley, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one son, Michael Ralph; five brothers, Ernest, Glen, Henry, John and Charles; and three sisters, Grace, Ruby and Margaret.

    Mary Jane Voss

    Mary Jane Voss, 81, a resident of Belmont Village Assisted Living Center, and formerly of Rock Island, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Ill.

    Services for Mrs. Voss will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

    Mary Jane was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Moline, the daughter of Emil and Ruth Anderson Elander. After the sudden death of her father, Emil, she and her two siblings were raised by her stepfather, Edwin Lundstrom. Mary Jane married Bernard L. "Pat" Voss on May 30, 1952, in Rock Island. Mr. Voss preceded his wife in death on July 19, 1987.

    Mrs. Voss was a homemaker. She was a 1945 Moline High School graduate and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Throughout her life, she was involved in her church and was an avid painter and golfer. She belonged to the Red Hat Club, the Lady Elks, the Viking Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, and was the president of the Resident Council of the Belmont Village Assisted Living Center, where she resided.

    Survivors include her children, a daughter, Melissa M. Voss McKinney and her spouse, Kevin; sons, Andrew P. Voss and his spouse, Paula, Rock Island, and Edwin B. Voss and his spouse, Vickie; grandchildren, Shannon, Amanda, Donna, Patrick and Alex; a great-grandson, Cody; sisters, Jackie Johnson, Florida, and Barbara Johnson, Illinois. Mrs. Voss was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and stepfather.

    Alice Richard

    Alice E. Richard, 73, of Moline, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

    Her visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, with services at noon. The Rev. P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. There will be a procession leaving at 9 a.m. from Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline.

    Alice was born Dec. 3, 1934, in East Moline, to Theodore and Athelene J. Adams Saunders. She married Wilson Richard Jr. on Aug. 17, 1957, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.

    She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, sewing, crocheting, cake decorating and collecting seashells.

    She is survived by her husband, Wilson; sons, Eric Richard, Moline, Theodore Richard, Roselle, Ill., Joe (Elisa) Richard, Highland, Ind.; daughter, Julie (Daniel) Liggins, Calumet City, Ill.; two grandchildren, Joseph Adam Richard and Jenna Abigail Richard, both of Highland; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

    Dean De Bord

    Dean L. De Bord, 68, of Milan, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

    Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

    Dean Lee De Bord was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Moline, a son of Howard L. and Marie C. Johnson De Bord. Dean was a U.S. Army veteran. He married the former Patricia Martin on March 14, 1962, in Rock Island.

    He owned and operated De Bord Trucking for 40 years. He retired in 2007.

    Surviving are his wife, Pat, Milan; children (and spouses), Dean (Reika) De Bord, Woodhull, Todd and Kenny De Bord, both of Milan, Debbie (Larry) Zacco, East Moline, Wayne Taylor, Davenport, and Cindy (Tim) Davis, Andalusia; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don; and sisters, Betty and Joyce.

    Mona M. Holstrum, 79, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.

    She was born Jan. 31, 1929, in Cambridge, to Byrle and Hazel Hicks Cosner Sr.

    John Kursock

    John Andrew Kursock, 92, of Kewanee, died April 14, 2008, at Kewanee Care Home.

    Jackie Stuebe

    Jackie Stuebe, 54, of Taylor Ridge, formerly of Moline, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

    Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Western Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

    Jacqueline Ann Woodward was born Nov. 13, 1953, to Bill and Charlotte Bledsoe Woodward. She worked for many years at her father's business, Bridgeway Auto Parts, at various times owned and operated two different local bars/restaurants, and later worked at Augustana College and at TPC.

    She married Chuck Stuebe on April 7, 1998, and they have one child, Ben. She dearly loved spending time with her son, who was the pride and joy of her life. She enjoyed gardening, boating on the Mississippi, and time spent with family and friends. Jackie was loved by many people and will be missed.

    She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her son, Ben; her father, Bill Woodward Sr., Moline; a brother, Bill (Chris) Woodward Jr., Moline; two sisters, Ruth (Rob) Bartelmay, Largo, Fla., and Georgette Woodward, Moline; a sister-in-law, Martha Muncie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte.

    Marjorie Grouell

    Marjorie Lea Grouell, 84, of Davenport, died April 15, 2008, at Manor Care, Davenport.

    She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Rock Island, to Archie and Anna Solberg Lea. She married Beryl Grouell on July 16, 1946. He preceded her in death.

    Surviving are sister, Betty Schulz, Moline; sister-in-law, Alice Griffiths, Milan; and many nieces and nephews.

    W. Lloyd Hanrahan

    W. Lloyd Hanrahan, 100, of Davenport, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.

    DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, is assisting the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Our Lady of Victory Church, Davenport, where he was a member. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, where a Christian wake will be at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.     Lloyd was born April 2, 1908, in Dewitt, Iowa, the son of William and Katherine Spellisy Hanrahan. He married the former Cyrilla Bathalter on June 5, 1933. She died Nov. 6, 1980. He later married Juanita Moeller on Oct. 19, 1996.

    Lloyd was employed as a salesman by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco from 1933 to 1969 and most recently worked in sales at Brown & Bigelow from 1972 to 1988.

    He was the first president of the Manufacturers Representative Association and was Past Exalted Ruler of Davenport Elks Lodge 298. He was a member of Moose Lodge 28 and a Forth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Lloyd enjoyed playing golf as a member of the Davenport Country Club.

    He is survived by his wife, Juanita; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Carol Hanrahan, Toledo, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Peter Roemer, Bettendorf, and Mary Jo and Richard Hasenmiller, Elgin, Ill. There are 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Peter Roemer; and brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Hanrahan.

    Betty Haussmann

    Betty Jane Haussmann, 76, of Davenport, died April 14, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

    Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Runge, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday.

    She was born June 17, 1931, to George and Frieda Meyer. She married Gerald Haussmann on Oct. 26, 1959. He died Jan. 15, 2002.

    Surviving are sons, Fred, Davenport, Craig, Levasy, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a brother.

    Sarah Holst

    Sarah Elizabeth Holst, 98, of Bettendorf, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at the Iowa Masonic Health Center, Bettendorf.

    A memorial service will be Saturday, April 19, at Harvest Bible Chapel, Davenport at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to Iowa Masonic Health.

    Sarah was born Oct. 2, 1909, in Atkinson, the daughter of John and Alice Riley Nowers. She was married to Kenneth C. Holst for 57 years. He died in 1986.

    She is survived by daughters, Gerry (Jim) Krumbholz, Sally (Will) Lauth, and Kathy (Fred) Dodds; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Alftine.

    She loved Jesus, her family and everyone she met; and everyone loved her.

    Lois Kroeger

    Lois W. Kroeger, 82, of Eldridge died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Genesis East, Davenport.

    Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Runge, Davenport. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park.

    She was born May 8, 1925, to Herbert and Hazel Hintze. She married Reldo H. Kroeger on Jan. 6, 1945. He died Jan. 28, 1997.

    Surviving are children, Ron, Pat Oster, Dennis, Deb Kraklio; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Melvin Hintze, Delmar Hintze, Jackie Hintze, Janice Wise.

    Jermaine Robinson

    Funeral services for Jermaine O. Robinson, 30, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Olivet Baptist Church, Rock Island, with the Rev. Otis Holmes officiating.

    Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island.

    He departed this life on Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Rock Island.

    He was born on July 4, 1977, in Rock Island, the son of Sherman and Loreen Archie Robinson. He was self-employed as a barber and was a member of Westside Church of Christ, Rock Island.

    Survivors include his parents; daughters, Lexus, Milan, Jayvionce and Jaelynn Robinson, Rock Island; a son, Jermaine O. Robinson, Davenport; sister, Janea Robinson, Rock Island; brother, James Robinson, Rock Island; grandmother, Lucy Pierson, Rock Island.

    Frances Williamson

    Frances Nellie Williamson, 95, of Davenport, died April 15, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

    Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Visitation is 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday at Runge, Davenport, with prayers at 5:30.

    She was born Sept. 1, 1912, to Ernest and Nellie Lange. She married Ernest Williamson in 1942. He died in 1958.

    Surviving are sisters, Marcella Schwenker, Davenport, Marian Huntley, Moline; five nieces; one nephew.
