Sanh Van Nguyen, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St. A., Moline, with visitation 4-7 p.m. prior to services.

Sanh was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Saigon, Vietnam, the son of Son V. Nguyen and Hoi T. Tran. He married Nga T. Nguyen in Saigon.

Sanh was a police officer for the Vietnam government.

Sanh was a member of the Ky Vien Temple, Davenport.

Survivors include his daughters, Thuy T. Nguyen, Rock Island, Hai T. Nguyen, Canada, and Ha T. Nguyen, Rock Island; sons, Khang V. Nguyen, Vietnam, Khanh V. Nguyen, Rock Island, and Dung V. Nguyen, Vietnam; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
