WQPT's new local series, "Artists in Profile," will include a short tribute tonight to Dispatch/Argus copy editor Brian Nelson, who died on March 17 at age 60.

The East Moline man and Augustana College graduate was music director of First Presbyterian Church, East Moline and was very active in community arts organizations, including Nova Singers, Handel Oratorio Society, Quad City Choral Arts and several theater companies.

A three-minute segment at the end of WQPT's half-hour program, which starts at 7 p.m., will include the recording of Mr. Nelson singing "Give Me Jesus" that was played at his memorial service, as well as photos and video of him performing at the Bucktown Revue and WQPT's "Champagne on the Rocks" fundraiser, said Lora Adams, director of marketing and local content.

The new weekly series, "Artists in Profile," tonight also features interviews with actor/producer Tristan Tapscott, musician Ellis Kell and visual artist Kate Askegaard.
