Michael H. Wolf, 60, of Erie, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Erie United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be at Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Erie Fire Department and Ambulance Service.

Mike was born Feb. 14, 1952, in Moline, son of Leland and Dolores Wolf. He graduated from Erie High School in 1970. He went to Western Illinois University, where he became a member of Theta Xi fraternity and earned his bachelor's degree in industrial technology. Mike married Missy Hein on June 24, 1978, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo.

He farmed for 30 years before going to work for Deere & Co. as an instructor at the Davenport Training Center. Mike also served on the Erie School Board and is a past president. He was an excellent woodworker. His other hobbies included water and snow skiing, bowling and playing croquet, cards and billiards.

He is survived by his wife, Missy; mother, Dolores Wolf, Erie; four children, Lisa Wolf, Denver, Colo., Gina (Nick) Morphew, Champaign, Ill., Susie (C.J.) Brooks, Erie, Bill Wolf, Santa Barbara, Calif.; grandson, Grant Morphew; brother, Allan (Cindy) Wolf, Geneseo; sisters, Cathy (Tom) Spitzfaden, Moline, Connie (Mark) Binder, Blue Grass; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Ellen Hein, DeKalb, Ill.; uncle, Bob (Nancy) Wolf; and the family dog, Bosco. He was preceded in death by his father, Leland.
