Two people pleaded guilty in Rock Island County Circuit Court Friday to attempting to rob guests at the Radisson Hotel, Moline.
Brian Peterson, 22, of Milan, and Brianne Seemann, 20, of Viola, both pleaded guilty to a lesser count of attempted armed robbery, a Class 1 felony. They were initially charged June 27 with armed robbery, a Class X felony. Three others accused in the case still face armed robbery charges.
A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Oct. 10. Ms. Seemann was released on bond posted earlier. Mr. Peterson remained in the Rock Island County Jail Friday evening on a $100,000 bond.
According to information presented at the hearing, Ms. Seemann and Madison Berthoud, 18, of Moline, met two men, who were visiting the area from Ireland, at a Davenport Club June 26. The visitors invited the young women to come back to their room at the Radisson hotel, 1415 River Drive.
Shortly upon arriving, one of the victims looked out the peephole of the hotel door and saw three males, who were eventually allowed into the room.
Once inside, the three demanded money and other items from the victims. Mr. Peterson was armed with a knife, the information said, and Andrew Meegan, 19, of Moline, struck one of the victims.
Moline police said they were notified of the incident about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and by 4 p.m., had arrested five people.
According to court records, a Sept. 17 trial date has been scheduled for Mr. Meegan and Ms. Berthoud; Broch Leftwich, 19, of Moline, is set to appear for a plea date Aug. 16.
