If consistency truly is the key, then the Quad-Cities is about to open a weeklong run of wonderful autumn weather.

Thursday's high is forecast to be 70 degrees, with a slight east/northeast wind of five to 10 miles per hour. A shift to northeast winds after dark could see temperatures dropping to 37 overnight before rebounding to 73 on Friday under partly cloudy skies.

The next five days are forecast to be similarly pleasant for the final week of September, with highs between 73 and 79 degrees and nighttime lows between 43 and 50 degrees.

Clear skies are forecast for the next 10 days, with no rain expected until Oct. 6.
