Re: Village of Milan Recreational Path Ribbon Cutting

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 3 p.m. the Village of Milan will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new and resurfaced portion of the Milan recreational path. One mile of existing path from U.S. 67 Bridge to Mill Creek has been resurfaced, along with an additional 1 ½ miles of new path which runs from Mill Creek Bridge on Airport Road, going east past Steel Dam to Veteran's Memorial at Carr's Crossing, where it connects to the Moline and Rock Island paths.

The ceremony will be held at the trail head behind Subway at 313 1st Avenue West, Milan. Recently, the village has added a new parking lot between the businesses of Subway and EX-Livin' Sports Center, which has added an additional 25-30 parking spaces.

Village officials encourage all to attend the ceremony with your bikes, as we will be riding the path after the ribbon-cutting. Immediately following the ceremony, light refreshments will be served at the Milan Municipal Building, second-floor break room.

Your presence and support will be greatly appreciated. If you would like more information about this topic, please feel free to contact me.
