RIA-JMTC Public Affairs Office

The Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC) will be featured on a documentary entitled "The Mighty Mississippi with Sir Trevor McDonald" Tuesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. on WQPT.

The documentary follows renowned British broadcaster, Sir Trevor McDonald, on an epic 2,000 mile journey along the great Mississippi River to discover why it is the most important river in the United States. His journey begins in the Gulf of Mexico where the river flows into the sea, and ends at the river's source near the Canadian Border.

Along his journey, he stops at RIA-JMTC where Col. James O. Fly, Jr, commander RIA-JMTC, tours him around the only vertically integrated metal manufacturing facility in the Department of Defense. On the tour, Col Fly highlights many of the Arsenal's unique capabilities and shows how the Arsenal is supporting Soldiers today.

The three part series originally aired in April on United Kingdom's ITV1 network.
