Republic sponsors 3rd Annual "Give Warmth" program to collect winter coats
for Quad Cities children in need.
Republic's "Big Red Sleigh" will pick up donated goods November 30th
Davenport, Iowa (November 13, 2012) - Temperatures are getting colder, but Republic is preparing to warm up children in need.
Republic, a leading wholesale distributor of electrical, energy management solutions, heating and air conditioning supplies and equipment throughout Iowa, Southern Wisconsin and Western Illinois, has announced their 3rd Annual "Give Warmth" program to collect winter clothing for Quad City Children in need.
Using its signature red trucks, Republic will distribute collection containers to Quad City businesses that would like to participate in the program. Donations of new or gently-used coats, hats, mittens, gloves and snow pants will be accepted at participating businesses from November through November 29.
On November 30, a Republic "Big Red Sleigh," will visit all participating businesses and pick up the donated clothing. Davenport-based Burke Cleaners will then clean the coats and help deliver them to children in need.
"As a company that is in the business of providing dealers equipment for heating homes with energy-efficient furnaces, geothermal systems and boilers, we're very excited about being able to help kids in the Quad Cities stay warm with our 'Give Warmth' program," said Mark Kilmer, President of Republic. "It is our hope that the 'Big Red Sleigh' will be overflowing with warmth." Last year Republic and the participating business partners collected over 300 coats.
To donate new or gently-used winter coats, visit Republic at 737 Charlotte Street in Davenport.
