The Establishment to celebrate 2nd anniversary

The Establishment Theatre, 220 19th St., Rock Island, will celebrate its second anniversary at 7 p.m. Wednesday with a special performance by the ComedySportz troupe featuring four returning alumni from the Quad-Cities and Chicago. Tickets are $10.

The returning alumni are Chris Moore, Moline High School Spanish teacher; Daniel P. Sheridan, director of Davenport's Junior Theatre; Matt Gerard, current touring member of "Mission IMPROVable" (a top-selling college improv show); andClay Sander, an account director at the famed Second City in Chicago.

ComedySportz QC has performed 500-plus shows at The Establishment since 2010 and has hosted stand-up comedians and independent filmmakers, as well as community events. Since opening, the Establishment Theatre has donated more than 1,200 show admissions to ComedySportz, as well as more than 20 private performances through its Guys in Ties troupe.

The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce chose ComedySportz QC as the 2012 Small Business of the Year.
