Cordova village officials on Thursday approved paying the Riverdale School District $50,000 each year for the life of two tax increment financing districts.

There are a total of 56 students living in Cordova's TIF 1 and TIF 2. No students live in Cordova's TIF 3.

Board members also approved paying the newly elected position of village clerk $400 per week for 28 hours, as well as $45 for each meeting attended. A salary increase, based on inflation, will be addressed on a yearly basis.

In March, Cordova residents voted 3-to-1 to return the village clerk position to an elected one. Current village clerk Sharon Peterson no longer lives in Cordova, making her ineligible to run for the position.

In other action, the board approved up to$4,000 in repairs by Reynolds Ford of East Moline to the village's Ford 350 maintenance truck. They also approved two new tires for the truck, not to exceed $368, from Harry's Farm Tire Service in Albany.

Board members also approved spending up to $700 to rent a power lift to put up Cordova's new Christmas lights.
