Mary Kay DeCoster, 79, of Moline, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care, Rock Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St. A, Moline, with a rosary recited by Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to Sacred Heart Church, Moline.
Mary Kay was born March 6, 1933, in Moline, the daughter of Leo and Lucille Carlson Glynn. She married William DeCoster on Oct. 15, 1977, in Moline.
Mary Kay worked at the Rock Island Arsenal.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society, Pastoral Care, Friends of Haiti, Christian Family Movement, Eucharistic minister and lector at Sacred Heart, Moline, TEC and Cursillo. She enjoyed time with family, friends, traveling, bridge, laughter and all things Irish.
Survivors (and spouses) include her husband, Bill; daughters, Kim Kochuyt, Moline, JoBeth (Michael) Ethington, Rock Island; sons, Rick (Mary Widmer) Kochuyt, Kansas City, Mo., Todd (Mindy) Kochuyt, Kansas City, Scott Kochuyt, Moline, Ethan DeCoster and Scott Hicke, Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Pamela (Joseph) Wells, Moline, Colleen (Ronald) Sovey, Davenport, Barbara (Jay) Mazur, Orange, Conn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert.
