Despite winning two of three weekend games, the Quad City Mallards continued to tweak their roster Monday.

The Flock signed forward Matt Boyd off the Central Hockey League waiver wire, cut veteran defenseman Jared Lavender and placed rookie forward Cory McGillis on the 14-day Injured Reserve list.

The changes came just prior to the Mallards embarking on a Thanksgiving Week road trip to Fort Worth (Wednesday) and Wichita (Friday). QC returns home to host Tulsa on Saturday before a makeup game Sunday at Bloomington.

The 27-year-old Boyd started this season with Wichita, picking up an assist in two games. The 6-foot, 190-pounder scored 14 goals and 39 points in 65 games last season with Laredo.

Lavender, who played 60 games for QC last season, collected three assists in eight games this season. The blue liner was released after coming off the 7-day IR with a lower-body injury.

McGillis has been sidelined since suffering a concussion in the Mallards' 3-2 loss to Bloomington last Saturday night.
