Tonight: 7:05 at NYTEX Sports Center in Texas. Webcasts: myqcmallards.com (free audio, pay-per-view CHL TV).

Storyline: The Mallards (5-4-2, 12 points) meet the old Texas Brahmas (4-5-2, 10 points) for the first time since joining the Central Hockey League in the 2010-11 season. Fort Worth boasts the CHL's reigning Player of the Week in Phil Fox. The forward scored the game-winning goal in each of the Brahmas' two games last week. Fox leads the Texas team in points (11) and goals (6). Tonight's contest is the continuation of a stretch of seven games in 10 nights for the Flock, with a second straight three-game weekend serving as the capper.

News: The CHL suspended Bloomington defenseman Steve Makway two games on Tuesday for last Saturday's hit that caused the concussion of QC's Cory McGillis. Makway was assessed an elbowing penalty on the play, but a requested review issued the suspension for unnecessary, careless/reckless and avoidable contact to the head area of an opponent. Ironically, Makway will be on the ice Sunday when the Mallards return to Bloomington, with the defenseman sitting out games tonight and Friday. McGillis is on the 14-day Injured Reserve list.

Notes: QC's Mickey Lang is riding an eight-game point scoring streak, the second longest in the CHL this season. ... Lang leads the Flock in points (14) and is tied with Obi Aduba for the team lead in goals (7). ... QC's Mike Hellyer, Brett Robinson and Bob Preece each scored their first goals of the season last weekend. ... QC goalie John Murray (3-1-2) ranks third in the CHL in save percentage (.925) and fifth in goals-against average (2.56). ... The Mallards allow a league-high 34.7 shots per game and rank last on the power play (4-for-42 or 9.5 percent).

Next: The Mallards open a three-game weekend Friday at Wichita. QC returns home Saturday before playing Sunday at Bloomington.
