Comment on this story
Can't be in Champaign for the state title games Friday? Don't worry. There are several ways to follow from afar Alleman and Mercer County as they bid for golden gridiron glory.
For starters, The Dispatch and The Rock Island Argus also offers unbeatable print coverage before, during and after those games.
The local newspaper will offer extensive previews on Friday morning.
Also, follow staff writers Daniel Makarewicz (@danmak57) and Terry Duckett on Twitter for observations and scoring updates during the game.
QCOnline also offers a special live scoring page to help Internet users stay updated.
Saturday morning's paper will be chock full of state football coverage, too.
All of this weekend's high school football finals are available again on statewide TV. Comcast SportsNet Chicago is airing Friday's and Saturday's games live.
The telecasts also are available on the Internet at CSNChicago.com and IHSA.tv. The post-game press conference and highlight packages are available there, too.
Also, Aledo radio station WRMJ-FM 102.3 is broadcasting both Friday contests involving the local teams.
Starting at noon, John Hoschedit, Chuck Clawson and Bill Breeden will provide coverage of Mercer County's 1 p.m. kickoff with Belleville Althoff in the 2A title tilt.
Coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. for Alleman's 7 p.m. rematch with two-time defending champ Rochester. Jim Taylor, Bill Horrell and former Aledo coach Cullen Welter are calling the 4A finale.
Both of those games are available on the Internet, too, at wrmj.com.
