Riverdale rolls to 2-0 start at Ridgewood

The Three Rivers Conference enjoyed a perfect night Wednesday at the Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tournament.

Both Riverdale and Prophetstown were winners in the second day of the first-week boys' basketball event.

Riverdale improved to 2-0 at the tourney by romping past the hosts. Prophetstown bounced from a Tuesday loss to ROWVA by beating Abingdon.

The tournament continues Friday and Saturday after taking the Thanksgiving holiday off today.

Riverdale 70, Ridgewood 39: The Rams ran out to a 37-18 halftime lead and never let up.

Riverdale's JaredRichmond scored a game-high 25 points, and Drew Beale added another 15 points.

Ridgewood's James Brooks and Elisha McCreary paced the Spartans, each scoring nine points.

Prophetstown 49, Abingdon 31: The Prophets came out of halftime inspired, scoring 20 points in the game-deciding third quarter.

Prophetstown's Carter Ames led the way with a team-high 12 points. Devin Johnson added 10 points for the winners.
