CLASS 4A FINAL SCORE: Rochester 43, Alleman 18
Garret Dooley's 9-yard touchdown run caps a 3-play, 17-yard drive, giving Rochester it's sixth TD on the night. Rochester 43, Alleman 18
Twice, the Pioneers drive into Rochester territory before turning the ball over on downs. Rochester ends the quarter by reaching the Alleman 3. Rochester 35, Alleman 18
The Pioneers head into intermission with a 35-18 deficit against Rochester. The Rockets have scored on five of their six possessions, carving through the Alleman defense with ease.
Rochester's scoring drives barely average 2 minutes as its fast-paced spread offense is clicking. Quarterback Austin Green has two touchdown runs and two touchdown passes in the first half. Prior to tonight, the most points Alleman has allowed this season was 26.
Sean Wetherell (48 yards), Adam Hoogerwerf (42) and John Tracey (1) all have touchdown runs for the Pioneers.
Both teams trade punts before Rochester scores a fourth touchdown. Austin Green's second touchdown run -- this one covering 22 yards -- came with 7:45 left in the second quarter. Rochester 28, Alleman 12

Given 90 seconds to go 70 yards, Rochester effortlessly carves through the Alleman defense. Blake Pasley's 16-yard touchdown reception capped the drive with 0:26 left in 1st half. Rochester 35, Alleman 18

On its first possession, Alleman scores on a 48-yard touchdown run from Sean Wetherell with 8:54 left in the 1st quarter. Two-point conversion is no good. Rochester 7, Alleman 6
Rochester scores again on a 1-yard touchdown run from Garret Dooley. The run capped a 7-play, 73-yard drive that took 2:11. Rochester 14, Alleman 6
Once again, Alleman answers a Rochester score. On 4th-and-1 from the 42, Adam Hoogerwerf goes untouched for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion fails as John Tracey's pass falls incomplete. Rochester 14, Alleman 12
Austin Green scores another Rochester touchdown, this time on an 18-yard run with 0:37 left in the 1st quarter: Rochester 21, Alleman 12

CLASS 2A FINAL SCORE: Mercer County 14, Belleville Althoff 7.
Mercer County wins the Class 2A state championship.
Althoff recovered a Mercer County fumble and drove to the Golden Eagle 8, but then lost a fumble. Mercer County takes over at the 12 with a 14-7 lead midway through the fourth.
Mercer County loses a fumble on a 4th-and-7 play from the Althoff 28. The Crusaders return the ball into Mercer County territory before fumbling at the 19. The Golden Eagles then recover the fumble and run out most of the remaining clock.
Mercer County takes a 14-7 lead with 8:31 left in the third quarter on Devin Morford's 95-yard fumble return for a touchdown. The return is the longest in IHSA playoff history. Mercer County 14, Althoff 7
On Althoff's subsequent possession, it drove to the Mercer County 36 before turning the ball over on downs with 4:42 left in the third quarter.
Mercer County throws and interception, but recovers a fumble two plays later. After 3, Mercer County leads 14-7.
The Golden Eagles enter intermission tied 7-all with Belleville Althoff in the Class 2A state championship game. Mercer County tied the game on Jesse Snyder's 2-yard touchdown run with 15 seconds remaining in the first half. That play capped an 11-play, 49-yard drive that started when the Golden Eagles recovered an Althoff fumble.
Both teams have used turnovers to produce their only points.
Mercer County lost a fumble on the third play of the game, allowing Althoff to take over on its own 43. The Crusaders then scored on a 4th-and-goal play when Luke Frazier caught a 19-yard pass from Eric Mertens with 2:04 left in the first quarter.
Mercer County has recovered two Althoff fumbles.
The Golden Eagles have 115 yards of offense. Zach Nelson has a game-high 38 rushing yards on 10 carries and Tanner Matlick is 5-of-9 passing for 55 yards.
Mercer County recovers a muffed Althoff punt early in second quarter. The Golden Eagles then drive to the Althoff 25, but the drives ends after they turn the ball over on downs.
