Anna Mae Kump, 80, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Heartland Health Care, Moline.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Milan. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery Moline. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Anna was born July 7, 1932, in Trinidad, Colo., to Domonic and Laura Teeples Baldassar. She was united in marriage to David L. Kump on June 4, 1956, in Trinidad. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2011.
Anna had taught second grade at Longfellow Elementary School in Rock Island for 29 years, retiring in 1988.
Anna was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Earlier in life, she enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, going out to dinner at the boat and for penny slots, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Alan (Alice) Kump, Davenport; daughter, Annette (Craig) Morris, Milan; grandson Justin (Bethany) Kump; granddaughter, Alena Morris (Rob Edwards) and grandson, Aaron (Jennifer) Morris, both of Milan; stepgrandchildren, Bethany and Nathan Schneckenberger, Davenport; great-grandchildren, Andrew Doyle, Owen and Emmett Kump, and Jaron, Logan and Zayden Morris; sisters, Mary Johnson, Albque, N.M., and Jean Wallendorff, Arvada, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Rose Baldassar, Denver, Colo. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Baldassar.
