Beverly J. Gloe, 75, of Moline, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Private family visitation will be held at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, Friday, Nov. 30, with private funeral services celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Beverly was born on June 28, 1937, in Moline, the daughter of William H. and Margaret M. DeTaeye Shepherd. She married William Floyd Gloe on Nov. 15, 1958, in Rock Island.
She had been a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Beverly was a 1958 graduate of the former Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Rock Island, retiring in 2001.
Beverly enjoyed traveling, particularly to London, Paris and Alaska. She loved her grandchildren and family and decorating for the holidays.
Survivors include her husband, William; daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Coats, Bettendorf, and Stephanie Gloe, Davenport; son, Gregg Gloe, Moline; sister, Rosemary Patricia Olson, Moline; brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Jean Shepherd, Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren, Samantha Szuma-Gloe, Silvis, and Alex and Katharine Coats, Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Arlene Gaertnier.
