Someone who bought a Powerball ticket at Lund's 66 convenience store at 975 Spruce Hills Drive, Betttendorf, won $40,000 in Wednesday night's drawing, according to ialotteryblog.com/.
Lund's received a message from lottery officials over its ticket machine that someone had won the $40,000, Barb Lund said.
''No one's been in yet to say it's theirs, but we're hoping to find out,'' she said. ''We're just happy someone bought such a big ticket here.''
To win, the ticket holder matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball number, plus had the Power Play option, according to blog information.
The ticket sold in Bettendorf was one of three in Iowa to win $40,000, but the only one locally. No big wins were reported in the Illinois Quad-Cities area.
One ticket bought in Missouri, and another bought in Arizona, matched all six numbers drawn to split the monster $587.5 million jackpot. Thewinning numbers were 5, 16, 22, 23 and 29 and the Powerball was 6.
