Genesis will answer development questions at Sunday meeting

MOLINE — Genesis Medical Center will answer questions about the proposed medical campus development in Moline during a special city meeting Sunday.

The public meeting will be 1-2 p.m. at the Moline Public Library,3210 41st St.

On Tuesday the city council is scheduled to vote on creating a tax increment finance district for the medical campus to help with development costs.

Genesis owns 48 acres west of 41st Street and south of 26th Avenue, a former privately-owned landfill. It proposes to build a multi-phased medical campus and asked for a TIF to assist with the first phase of the development that would include a medical office building, a parking lot, infrastructure and road improvements.
