Dog whisperer Cesar Milan will be in Davenport on March 22 to speak at a fundraiser for Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities.

Mr. Milan will speak at the annual Conversation Series fundraiser luncheon at noon at the River Center. The event, sponsored by Genesis Cancer Care Institute, is open to the public. Tickets are $50 a seat, or $400 for a table of eight.

Mr. Milan will be available for a meet-and-greet session immediately following the luncheon for an additional $50 per person. Light refreshments will be served. People can attend one event or both.

Development assistant Paige Nagle said Gilda's Club offers pet therapy sessions, and it seemed natural to invite Mr. Milan as a celebrity speaker. Past speakers have included Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, actress Helen Hunt, and chef Curtis Stone.

It's not known whether Mr. Milan will bring any dogs with him as part of his presentation. Attendees are not allowed to bring dogs, but the event will end with a question and answer session.

Funds raised from the event will go toward the many support groups, educational workshops and family groups offered for free by Gilda's Club.

Tickets may be purchased at Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities, 1234 East River Drive, Davenport, by calling (563) 326-7504, or at gildasclubqc.org.
